Note: Prices rechecked Saturday, October 24, 2026, around 7:15 a.m. America/New_York. The AceMagician W1 Amazon listing (ASIN B0FX2RKYZ8) showed $619.99 on our direct page open; DealNews still pointed at $529.99 (list $619.99) from October 23. The Lenovo Yoga Mini Best Buy page (SKU 6675121) showed $999.99; Notebookcheck reported $699.99 on October 20. Tap through for the live number before you buy.

If you want a Windows mini PC in the same desk footprint as Apple’s box, you are shopping for a Mac mini Windows alternative — not another five-brand roundup. This piece covers two machines that hit (or recently hit) the under-$700 band: the value AceMagician W1 and the quiet, stylish Lenovo Yoga Mini. Broader lists already live in our Mac mini alternatives roundup and the “buy this instead” SER8 pitch. Here the job is narrower: Windows first, a ~$700 ceiling, and an honest iGPU take on local AI.

Buy the AceMagician W1 for the strongest graphics-per-dollar Windows mini PC in this budget if you can live with a plastic chassis and marketplace-brand support.

Buy the Lenovo Yoga Mini when Best Buy actually has it near $700, and you want Thunderbolt 4, a fingerprint button, and a desk-first design more than raw iGPU gaming.

Keep a Mac mini if your work is macOS-locked. That case is short on purpose; the longer math is in our Mac mini M6 back-office guide.

Why this is not another Mac mini alternatives list

Most “best Mac mini alternative” posts stack five brands and drift into $2,000 AI boxes. Useful — we did that in the top five list — but wrong if your cart limit is seven hundred dollars and your software is Windows.

This guide answers three sharper questions:

  1. What is the best Mac mini Windows equivalent under about $700 right now?
  2. When is Lenovo’s stylish puck worth waiting for a sale?
  3. Can either box run local AI without lying about iGPU limits?

US pricing only. Best Buy links are plain retailer links.

AceMagician W1: best value under $700

AceMagician W1 (Ryzen 7 H 255, 16GB / 1TB) on Amazon · ASIN B0FX2RKYZ8

DealNews’s October 23 write-up had this W1 at $529.99, down from $619.99, with Ryzen 7 H 255, Radeon 780M, 16GB, 1TB, and free Prime shipping (DealNews). When we opened the same ASIN on October 24 around 7:15 a.m. America/New_York, Amazon showed $619.99. Deal pages flip; the ASIN does not.

What the linked listing ships

From Amazon B0FX2RKYZ8 (checked Oct 24, 2026):

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 H 255, 8 cores / 16 threads, up to 4.9GHz
  • GPU: Radeon 780M, 12 RDNA 3 cores, up to 2600MHz
  • Memory: 16GB LPDDR5 6400MT/s; Amazon’s table also lists a 16GB RAM maximum for this SKU — treat memory as fixed unless proven otherwise
  • Storage: 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe; listing says removable storage supports up to 4TB
  • Displays: up to three 4K via HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 2.0, and USB4 Type-C
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro
  • In the box: power adapter, HDMI cable, VESA mount and screws, manual

Starry Hope treats the H 255 as a rebranded Ryzen 7 8745HS with the same 780M-class graphics, in a roughly 5 × 5 × 1.6 inch VESA-friendly chassis (Starry Hope). Their dual-SO-DIMM notes describe other W1 configs they track; for this 16GB LPDDR5 ASIN, stick to Amazon’s max-16GB and expandable-storage claims.

What testers said (not us)

We have not tested a W1. Third-party notes:

  • Eurogamer.de reviewed an AceMagic W1 with the 8745HS (same chip class), 32GB SODIMM, and 1TB. They called it a solid work all-rounder: nearly silent for office writing, about 40dB under load, fine for lighter gaming with FSR, and not a high-end gaming PC. Geekbench 6 roughly 2,597 / 12,921 on their unit (Eurogamer.de).
  • Starry Hope aggregates reviewer notes on W1-class hardware: plastic that can creak, adhesive feet that make opening annoying, idle noise in the high 20s dBA climbing toward the mid-40s under load, and 780M gaming roughly in an older GTX 1060 ballpark at 1080p (Starry Hope).

Configurations differ (16GB LPDDR5 vs 32GB SODIMM). None of that is our lab score.

Who should buy it

This is the best Mac mini alternative for Windows in this article if you want Windows 11 Pro, three monitors, 1TB in the box, and the strongest iGPU you can get without leaving the under-$700 neighborhood. It is also the riskier brand story: AceMagician is not Lenovo for walk-in support. The listing advertises a one-year warranty and seller “lifetime technical support” — that is seller language, not a Genius Bar.

Our take: AceMagician W1 (ASIN B0FX2RKYZ8) — Not rated yet

The value pick: Radeon 780M and 1TB in a palm-sized Windows box near $530 on deal, still sensible near list $620.

  • Pro: Ryzen 7 H 255 + Radeon 780M is serious iGPU class for the money
  • Pro: 1TB PCIe 4.0 and triple 4K outputs (HDMI, DP, USB4) on the Amazon listing
  • Con: 16GB LPDDR5 with Amazon listing a 16GB maximum — plan memory on day one
  • Con: Plastic mini-PC brand support, not a major OEM desk machine

Lenovo Yoga Mini: quiet / stylish pick

Lenovo Yoga Mini (Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB / 512GB) at Best Buy · SKU 6675121 · model 91E60001UT

Lenovo Yoga Mini cylindrical mini PC deal photo Lenovo Yoga Mini as shown in Notebookcheck’s deal coverage. Image: Notebookcheck / Lenovo.

Notebookcheck reported Best Buy dropping the base Yoga Mini to $699.99 from $999.99 on October 20, 2026 (Notebookcheck). Our October 24 Best Buy page checks showed $999.99 again. XDA’s October 11 review also saw the base model around $700 during their window (XDA). If you need it under $700, wait for the sale.

Specs that matter (base model)

From Notebookcheck, XDA, and Best Buy:

  • CPU: Core Ultra 5 325 — Notebookcheck: eight cores, up to 4.5GHz, 50 TOPS NPU, 55W max turbo
  • GPU (base): Intel Graphics, not the Arc B390 on the Core Ultra X7 358H step-up
  • Memory: 16GB LPDDR5X — soldered. XDA: no RAM upgrade; SSD swaps mean prying the lid
  • Storage: 512GB SSD
  • Size / weight: about 130 × 130 × 48.6 mm, around 0.6 kg (XDA)
  • Ports: two Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, 2.5GbE, USB-A 10Gbps, two USB-C 10Gbps, 3.5mm (XDA)
  • Extras: fingerprint power button, mics, speaker, Wi-Fi sensing / presence, adaptive lighting
  • OS: Windows 11

Why buy this instead of the AceMagician

The Yoga Mini is the Mac mini Windows equivalent when the desk is part of the product. XDA scored their higher X7 / 32GB / 1TB loaner 8/10, praising ports, fingerprint, and performance, and docking price plus few upgrades (XDA). That score is XDA’s, on a different SKU — not ours, and not the Ultra 5 base.

Say the soldered RAM out loud before you buy. If you already need 32GB, the base Yoga Mini is the wrong SKU — and the X7 / 32GB / 1TB step-up XDA reviewed was $1,712 on Lenovo.com during their review.

Our take: Lenovo Yoga Mini (Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB / 512GB) — Not rated yet

The stylish pick when Best Buy has it near $700. Skip it at full $999.99 unless Thunderbolt and the puck design are the whole point.

  • Pro: Dual Thunderbolt 4, 2.5GbE, fingerprint, presence features, major-brand channel
  • Pro: Desk-first cylindrical design reviewers describe as meant to be seen
  • Con: Soldered 16GB RAM — no upgrade path
  • Con: Base Intel Graphics; Arc B390 is on the much pricier X7. Sale $699.99 (Oct 20); our Oct 24 check showed $999.99

Windows mini PC for AI: keep expectations boring

People searching windows mini pc for ai usually mean one of three jobs:

  1. Copilot+ / NPU features in Windows
  2. Small local LLMs (7B-class, quantized)
  3. A disposable agent sandbox that should never see the main machine

For (1), the Yoga Mini’s 50 TOPS NPU is the cleaner Windows story (Notebookcheck). That is on-device OS math — not a 70B home lab.

For (2), both are iGPU machines with 16GB of system memory. Inference shares that pool with Windows and the frame buffer. The W1’s Radeon 780M is more interesting for hobbyist local models than base Intel Graphics, but 16GB is still 16GB. Expect small quantized models and a hard ceiling unless you buy a different chip class (Strix Halo / big unified memory — see the top five alternatives, not this under-$700 piece).

For (3), you do not need either box. A cheap N-series sandbox is enough; see our mini PC sandbox for computer-use AI agents.

These are productive Windows desks that can dabble in local AI, not AI workstations.

When you should still want a Mac mini

A Windows mini PC is the wrong “alternative” if what you want is macOS. Keep or buy the Mac mini when:

  • Your toolchain is Apple-only (Final Cut, Logic, Xcode, Continuity).
  • Fan behavior and watts matter more than upgrading RAM later.
  • You already live in iCloud and Messages on the desktop.

Apple’s M6 Mac mini started at $899 for 16GB / 256GB with memory and storage locked at purchase — the constraint in our M6 back-office guide. Great small computer. Bad computer if your accounting app, CAD package, or game library is Windows-only. Then a Mac mini alternative for Windows is a compatibility requirement, not a vibe.

How to choose in one minute

  1. Windows + strongest iGPU under ~$700? AceMagician W1 — verify B0FX2RKYZ8.
  2. Windows + Thunderbolt + desk sculpture at ~$700? Yoga Mini — accept soldered 16GB and 512GB.
  3. Need macOS? Mac mini. Stop reading mini-PC lists.
  4. Need big local models? Neither. Buy more memory than a $700 iGPU box offers.
  5. Need an expendable agent PC? Cheap N-series sandbox, not a 780M creator box.

FAQ

What is the best Mac mini Windows alternative under $700 right now?
The AceMagician W1 (ASIN B0FX2RKYZ8) is the pick in this article when Amazon is near DealNews’s $529.99 or even the $619.99 list we saw on October 24, 2026. The Lenovo Yoga Mini only belongs in that under-$700 sentence when Best Buy’s ~$699.99 sale (reported October 20) is live.

Is the AceMagician W1 a real Mac mini Windows equivalent?
For desk size, Windows apps, triple displays, and iGPU class, it is one of the closer budget matches. It is not equivalent for build quality, OEM support, or macOS software.

Does the Lenovo Yoga Mini have upgradeable RAM?
No. XDA states the LPDDR5X is soldered. SSD swaps are possible with difficulty; memory is fixed at purchase.

Can these run local LLMs?
Lightly. Both are 16GB iGPU systems. The W1’s 780M is the more capable GPU for small quantized models; the Yoga Mini’s NPU helps Windows on-device features. Neither replaces a high-memory AI mini PC.

Should I buy the Mac mini instead?
Yes if you need macOS. No if your must-have apps are Windows-only — then a Windows mini PC is the rational Mac mini alternative for Windows users.

Where did you check prices?
Amazon ASIN B0FX2RKYZ8 and Best Buy SKU 6675121, plus DealNews (Oct 23) and Notebookcheck (Oct 20), rechecked October 24, 2026, around 7:15 a.m. America/New_York.
